080: Apologies

Tony, I'm so sorry I didn't make it to work today. I meant to be there and then I lost track of time and then it was too late. I promise I'll make it up later.

*sigh* And now Sam has me all worried about apologizing and why I'm really doing it and... and my head hurts again.

Really? I guess I never thought of it that way.

I guess I thought that other people just didn't care enough to remember. Not that it was hard.

Some don't. That you do, is an additional thing to be proud of. It's hard to care about people.

Oh gosh, I care about pretty much everyone. Especially people who don't seem like they have anyone else who cares much about them.

That... that's something to be proud of, too?

[identity profile] 71-chevelle.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Darn straight. See? You have plenty of things to be proud of, they're just different things from some of the rest of us.

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess I never thought of things like that as being important.

[identity profile] 71-chevelle.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
They're some of the most important things in the world.

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Gosh...

I know they're nice things, but I never thought...

Sometimes the problem with people is that they don't take the time ta listen to each other. They get wrapped up in their own pain and problems that they can't hear anyone else's. An' that causes arguments, fights, an all manner of misunderstandings.

People who listen, who feel - they get it. Or at least they know not to cross th' line of fire.

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
I think it helps that I can hear what people are thinking and what they're feeling. Even though I try hard not to.

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Um... well...

Kind of?

I swear I try not to listen!

[identity profile] 71-chevelle.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Don't get upset, I ain't mad or anything. Just took me by surprise.

I know plenty of people who have abilities - an' I know there are a ton more here in the City. I'd say you were in good company, all things considered.

An' sometimes people Sam can't help what they can do - but maybe it's what they do with th' information they get that's important. I don't see you ever usin' that to hurt someone, so I think we're safe.

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Oh gosh, no, I wouldn't! I wouldn't ever want to hurt anyone.

But sometimes I answer things before I'm asked or well, I guess like you said, I know when to stay out of the way. And I learned I can let people feel how I'm feeling if I really concentrate.

[identity profile] 71-chevelle.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
'An those can all be good things, for you. And fer your friends if they're feeling down.

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
I...

Yeah. Maybe you're right.

I know a lot of people thinkI'm really calming to be around.

[identity profile] 71-chevelle.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
You should listen to 'em - they know what they're talkin' about.

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe... maybe I am then.

And that's a good thing too, right?

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Then I'm glad I am.
