020: Starlight and Moonlight

I'm sparkling like starlight and moonlight combined! I probably shouldn't admit just how much time I spent dancing around in one of the underground rooms in the Library with all the lights off, just so I can see how it looked!

Tony? Today, yes, I am beautiful and special!

I wish Iron man could see me!

"The Blue Lady," he said, leaning forward to press his forehead against hers.

She laughed, but then became more serious. "You are very kind, but the Blue Lady? She doesn't sparkle. She... she walks in a, a sort of a shadow of blue. And she's not happy. She's sad, she's very very sad, because she can't help all the children, not unless they know her true name or if they're very lucky and none of the demons are watching her. But she always tries and if you call her by her true name she'll come and she'll save you."

"Well, then how about you are the Blue Lady's magical sidekick?" he asked. Tony wondered how Rain could miss the similarities between herself and the Blue Lady she talked about.

"And we'll fly over the City looking to see if there are any children in trouble?"

She giggled. "We can make a new pretend story and I can be one of the angels and help her and you can protect all of us and we can save everyone!"

"Yes! Oh, yes! Let's fly and look!"

"I'd like to be part of a story like that," he said, the shins from his armor moving to her legs.

"Alright, we'll find people who need saving."

"And we will save them all! Even if it's just for make-pretend!" She could feel her heart racing as she looked forward to the pure joy of soaring through the air with her friend.

"We do save them all. I'd like to pretend that tonight," he told her. Taking her carefully under the arms he began to slowly rise up. "Are you ready?"

"Oh yes," she said, shivering in delight. "I want to fly!"

"Then fly you shall," he said, blasting forward and moving out over the City as he wove through the buildings.

[ooc: Do you want them to find someone to save? Maybe someone being attacked by a vampire?]

She laughed and let the wind of their movement blow through her hair.

"Look at us shimmering!"

[ooc: sure!]

Tony flew them over the City, spinning and looping around so that she could shine against the different surfaces.

"We are shimmering," he said. "Especially you."

She laughed, wishing she could reach out and hug everything tightly to her. She was so happy - she didn't remember ever being so happy ever before.

"I wish this moment could last forever!"

Tony didn't quite agree with that statement, but he did wish she could feel like this all the time. Glancing down, Tony saw something that bothered him.

"Rain... down there..."

She glanced down and her breath caught. "What is that? It doesn't look good."

"That looks like someone being attacked," Tony said, frowning at it all. He couldn't stand by and just watch it happen, but he didn't want to endanger Rain.

"Can you hold on tight?"

Re: *Action after dusk*

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
She nodded and wrapped her arms around him as tightly as she could manage. "I'm good," she assured him. "Worry about helping them."

Tony nodded and dropped to street level. Auto-targeting immediately selected the vampire and a blast of energy from his hand caught it in the chest. He wasn't sure if it could regenerate but he figured that even if it could, it would take a while to come back from that. The victim was already running away to safety.

"That was your first rescue," Tony said. "How do you feel about it?"

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
"My heart is pounding like crazy," she admitted, "and it was really scary, but I'm so glad we saved them!"

[identity profile] morethanasuit.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Tony held her a bit closer at the mention of how scared she was, but he knew it was a bit of a rush too.

"I always love that feeling, knowing that you helped someone."

"You're a good person," she said firmly. "I'm glad we were here to help."

She was glad he was holding onto her more tightly. It made her feel safer.

"You're a good person to," he said. "You wanted to help and you don't even have a suit of armor."

Re: *Action after dusk*

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
She turned her head to look at him, rather surprised. "Oh, that's right. I guess... I don't think of it as armor. It's just you."

Re: *Action after dusk*

[identity profile] morethanasuit.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
"It is me," Tony said, realizing again how much she saw him as two separate people. "It's me inside a suit of armor."

Re: *Action after dusk*

[identity profile] livingmyths.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Right. Yes," she said, frowning a little. "I forget. I'm sorry."

Re: *Action after dusk*

[identity profile] morethanasuit.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
Tony tilted his head a bit, giving her a puzzled look. "What are you sorry for?"
