"Come on, my beautiful Isabel! Mommy's got a surprise for you!" A woman with long black hair scooped up a tiny girl and swung her around till she was giggling helplessly.

"More, Momma, more!" Isabel shouted happily.

"Don't you want your surprise?"

Isabel put a finger up to her lips thoughtfully. "First, one more swinging, Momma!"

Her mother laughed and swung her around again, then cuddled her close. "Look at this," she said, pulling out a stuffed bunny covered in real rabbit fur and hopping him over to the little girl. "Rabbit hops in to take away all your fears. No more having to be scared at night, wichiycala**!"



Isabel's eyes went wide. "For me, Momma?"

"All for you, wichiycala, just for you. You remember the story?"

Isabel nodded solemnly, holding the bunny close and petting him as gently as if he were a real rabbit. "I 'members, Momma." She leaned in and kissed her mother. "Thank you. I love you."

"Oh, little one, I know. And I love you all the way to the moon and back and all around the stars."



"Moon and Back, Momma," Rain whispered, smiling with her eyes still closed, enjoying the latest of the memories that had been visiting her all day.

"Oh Deities, if any of you are listening and please be listening, thank you so much for this! I'll never forget it."

I was tiny tiny and my momma picked me up and swung me around and she gave me a bunny so I wouldn't be scared at night and, oh, Tony! She loved me so much!

I could feel how much and remember it like she was just right there with me!
