But a poor serving wench am I, trapped in this building where I must slave away, except for the few moments like now when I can escape to the roof of the building.

Oh, these few moments of near freedom! Seeing the blue of the sky, the brightness of the sun, hearing the wind and the calls of the birds!

I stand here and dream, wishing that I was a fine lady, too, wishing that my life - just even for a day - would be one of ease and beauty. That one day a good and kind man would find me and perhaps fall in love with me.

Or at least take me away from this life of drudgery to one where life was not so hopeless.

She waited patiently and ever so hopefully, on the roof, the wind blowing her long hair and tugging at her skirts. Lady Abby would not be sorry she chose her.

Next time, she was finding someone who could fly to get her up there. She wasn't cursed so she was wearing her usual clothing when she finally got to Ocean.

She caught herself with a quick gasp. "I apologize, My Lady, I am sure your clothes are most appropriate for you. And yes, I am ready to go wherever you wish."

Then she grinned and nodded towards the way she'd come. "Let's go then before some stranger comes along to lift out skirts. And mine's way shorter than yours."
