030: Shhh!

Yesterday was a lot of fun. Today I'm just having a quiet day working in the Library. Anyone I talked to yesterday about coming to visit or who wants to is more than welcome. I think after work I may go sit up on the roof for a while. I like being high up.

Mohinder, if you want me to come clean today, just let me know!

Rain closed her eyes for a moment when he touched her, feeling a strange... something... that she didn't remember ever feeling before. "Yes, yes, I think so."

"Alright." Slowly, he started her off. Juggling three was trickier than two but he was doing his best to help her keep them going.

She kept them going for a bit, then one went skittering off somewhere and she was laughing with delight and just for the sheer joy of it all.

He laughed with her as he watched them fly. "That was bloody good for your first time. Not bad at all."

She turned, still half in the circle of his arms and beamed up at him. "Thank you, Mat. Oh, that was wonderful!"

Shaking his head, he stood to go get the one closest to him. Pocketing it, he looked over at her. "Rain? Have you ever gone dancing before?"

She turned to look at him. "Dancing?" she said, as if it was some bizarre foreign thing. "Me? No. Of course not."

He nodded and walked over to her. "I'd like to take you sometime. If you don't know how, I'll teach you."

She searched his eyes, wondering if he was making fun of her, but he seemed and felt all honesty, so she nodded. "I don't know how, but I... I would like that, I think. Very much."

"Friday?" He had somewhere to be tomorrow but he was free then. "Hopefully a curse won't hit me then. If it does, then I'll make it up to you, Rain."

"Friday," she agreed, suddenly nervous. What was someone supposed to wear dancing? All she had were her two pairs of jeans and a few t-shirts. Somehow she didn't think that would do.

"And... we will hope for no curses."

"Maybe the curse will let me. You never know." Still smiling, he took the two balls back and put them in his pocket. Then he leaned forward to place a light kiss on her cheek.

"I have to go now but I'll see you then."

She looked up at him, a little startled, but feeling that same odd feeling in her stomach. "Yes," she said. "I'll be looking forward to it."

Her hand reached up to touch the spot where he'd kissed her.

She watched him go, hand still touching her cheek, then turned to gaze out over the city with a smile.
