I'm feeling a little... sad today, I guess and I really don't know why.

It's a nice day and Spring is coming and my friends are here and I should be all happy, but I'm just sort of... not.

I don't even want to go to the Library.

Maybe... maybe I'll just curl up in bed and pull the covers over my head for a while.

Or maybe I'll go out and sit by the river and hope that makes me feel better.

He smiled back and sat on the floor, his back against the couch. He reached for the things he brought with him and showed them to Rain.

"And that was just a beginning," he told her. "We still have icecream here and chocolate. I'd suggest we start with icecream because I'm not sure how long that can survive..."

Rain curled up next to him. "I've almost never had ice cream before. I think only 2 or 3 times."

He offered her a spoon and opened the icecream container. "I wasn't sure what kind of icecream you'd like so I went with vanilla. So you can mix it with chocolate. However you like." He knew a lot about women, but comforting them was never his strongest skill. So it was mostly guess work here.
He took a spoonful of icecream and tasted it, then he offered the container to Rain. "You will have to share, though," he told her with a smile.

"I don't mind sharing at all with you," Rain said with a smile.

She took a cautious spoonful and tasted it then beamed at him. "OH, that's wonderful!"

He smirked, satisfied that he got it right. "Glad to hear that," he said taking another spoonful of icecream. "You'll be feeling happy in no time." He put the spoon in his mouth and let the icecream melt on his tongue.

"I'm already happier with you here," she said shyly.

He put his arm around her and pulled her closer. "Well, then I suppose that means I'll stay for a while." He pushed the icecream towards her, inviting her to have it all. "Was there a reason you felt bad?"

Rain snuggled into him and took another spoonful of the ice cream before offering it to him again.

"I don't know," she admitted. "I just... I just felt sad when I got up this morning and nothing seemed to cheer me up."

"Well, hopefully that's no longer the case. Now, you're only allowed to think happy thoughts," he informed her. He took a spoonful of the icecream, but instead of eatingit himself he offered it to her, patiently waiting untill she opened her mouth.

She looked at him curiously, then opened her mouth for him.

He fed her the icecream and then kissed her gently, tasting the vanilla on her lips. "Tell me if the bad mood dares to show itself again. We'll chase it away," he winked at her at treated himself to another spoonful of icecream.

Rain liked that - the warmth of his lips contrasting with the cold of the ice cream. She touched a finger to her own lips to feel the difference, then leaned in to kiss him after he'd taken a bite of the ice cream.

"Mmmm..." she murmured against his lips. "This is different. And very nice. Is this how you chase away bad moods?"

It wasn't, not really. But she already witnessed how he dealt with bad moods. And Chuck suspected she would not be a fan of scotch.

He smiled. "There are many ways to do that. I didn't know what you'd like best. I'm improvising," he told her quietly.

"I like it when you're like this with me," she admitted. "All quiet and sweet. And I like the kissing and the ice cream."

Chuck wanted to tell her that she shouldn't be getting used to it, because it wasn't really Chuck. But he could play nice this one time.

"Well, we still have chocolate, and there can be as much kissing as you like," he assured her with a smile and kissed her again, as if to prove he meant it.

He was always nice to her, so that's all she would believe.

She smiled into the kiss. "Is kissing as nice with chocolate as it is with ice cream?"

He reached for the chocolate and handed it to her with a smile. "Why don't you find out?"

She smiled at him, eyes a little dark and seductive, then took a bite of the chocolate.

He gave the chocolate a moment to melt on Rain's tongue and then he leaned and kissed her, trying to taste as much sweetness as possible.

She opened her mouth even more under his and let her arms go around his neck. "I like this way of eating chocolate," she murmured.

"Glad to hear that," he said with a smile and licked her lips. "It tastes way better like this."

"You always taste good. And feel good," Rain said with a smile. "And make me feel good."

He touched her neck and allowed his fingers to travel up and down her throat, gently, teasingly. "I thought that was the point," he pointed out, trying to sound innocently.

Rain shivered delightfully at his touch and she could feel her breath come faster. "Well, you're doing very well, I'd say."

"I aim to please," he whispered into her ear.
