030: Shhh!

Yesterday was a lot of fun. Today I'm just having a quiet day working in the Library. Anyone I talked to yesterday about coming to visit or who wants to is more than welcome. I think after work I may go sit up on the roof for a while. I like being high up.

Mohinder, if you want me to come clean today, just let me know!

Getting up, he moved behind her and placed a hand on either of hers. "We'll start slow so you can get used to it." He took one of the three and put it on her lap. "Ready?"

She stiffened when he touched her, surrounding her from behind, then forced herself to relax. "I guess, yes."

"It's alright. I won't hurt you. I give my word." He didn't know if she was accidentally listening again but he never went back on his word once he gave it. Moving her hands with his, he helped her get the two balls moving around in a slow circle.

She liked the feel of him there, warm against her back, and she knew he wouldn't hurt her, sensed it there. And felt safe.

Which let her relax enough to juggle the balls. She wasn't nearly as uncoordinated as she feared.

He took his hands away then to let her keep juggling them on her own. But, he didn't move from behind her.

He laughed and put his hands on hers again to help her start all over. "Ready, Rain?"

Rain closed her eyes for a moment when he touched her, feeling a strange... something... that she didn't remember ever feeling before. "Yes, yes, I think so."

"Alright." Slowly, he started her off. Juggling three was trickier than two but he was doing his best to help her keep them going.

She kept them going for a bit, then one went skittering off somewhere and she was laughing with delight and just for the sheer joy of it all.

She turned, still half in the circle of his arms and beamed up at him. "Thank you, Mat. Oh, that was wonderful!"

She blushed and stood to go collect the wayward balls, not certain how to answer that.

Shaking his head, he stood to go get the one closest to him. Pocketing it, he looked over at her. "Rain? Have you ever gone dancing before?"

She turned to look at him. "Dancing?" she said, as if it was some bizarre foreign thing. "Me? No. Of course not."

She searched his eyes, wondering if he was making fun of her, but he seemed and felt all honesty, so she nodded. "I don't know how, but I... I would like that, I think. Very much."
