The rain is starting to go away. I kind of feel like I'm going away too. My head at least. Maybe I just need to sleep more. I do feel awfully tired. I think I'm not sleeping too well. Too many things running around loose in my head.

He slid his arms around her and rose and he lifted her, placing her gently on the bed and moving down on top of her, his mouth never leaving hers. He let the demon have his way with her, reveling in the madness-laced life flowing into him.

After she'd fallen into sleep, he drew the blanket up around her and took up a nearby chair as sentry. He may need to feed, and he may have loved every moment of the evening he'd just spent with her, but he'd be damned if the 'bad men' would get her in her sleep.
