Tony decided that now was a good time to go see Rain. Mostly, because he missed her and the longer he went without seeing and... confronting her, the harder it would be to salvage their friendship.
So he went to the library, knowing she was working that day. He had no specific goal in mind other than he would just wander around in hopes of running into her.
"I had a friend, back home," Tony said, leaning against one of the bookshelves.
"Pepper Potts. She was my assistant, but she was a close friend too. And I liked her, a lot, and she knew it too. But she liked this other guy, Happy Hogan. Happy was my best friend. Part of it hurt to see them together, but... it's what they wanted. And I had to see them together for years. But you know what? It never changed that Pepper was my friend, and a very close friend."
"I'm glad she was your friend," Rain said dully. She didn't want to think about any of this, not any at all. And she knew she wasn't what Tony wanted. He didn't need to remind her. She already knew she wasn't any good.
Tony was silent for a moment. This was all a big mistake, Rain apparently didn't want to see him and he didn't want to pressure her and make her uncomfortable.
"Well, that's all I wanted to say," he said, standing up straight. "Have a good day."
She looked up at him - just a quick glance up and then down again. "I'm sorry," she said very softly. "I didn't mean to. And I'll stop. I don't know how, but I will."

Action for the 15th

"Can I tell you a story, Rain?" he asked.
Re: Action for the 15th
She still couldn't move or even pick up her head to look at him.
