085: Confusion

The rain is starting to go away. I kind of feel like I'm going away too. My head at least. Maybe I just need to sleep more. I do feel awfully tired. I think I'm not sleeping too well. Too many things running around loose in my head.

I can... I can hear them. They're everywhere in my head.

Like all my head is them, everywhere.

And I can see him and hear my daddy and see everything - all the bad and scary things and...

Thomas, I can't - I'm too scared. I can't make my head stop and there're voices and it hurts and I just... I can't feel safe. Not even in my house.

I need to hide somewhere.

Rain stayed curled up in the small space between the bed and the wall in her bedroom, clinging to her network device with one hand and her batteries with the other.

The voices in her head were so loud they made everything hurt.

Thomas remembered his way to Rain's room almost sub-consciously, even though he'd only been there once and he hadn't been in his right mind.

He felt her presence before he saw her and he eased himself down upon the bed and peered over the edge at her.

"Well, hey there."

Rain heard him come in and could still feel enough to know it was him. She peeked up at him, nervously. "Hi, Thomas. You're very nice to come."

He slid down beside her, making the space between the wall and the bed rather cramped.

"Can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be."

It was odd, but being near him? She could feel her brain calming. Everything seemed to settle and become more clear.

Rain let out a shuddering breath and rested her head against the wall. "My head got so scary, Thomas, but it doesn't feel as bad now."
